Explore North Sumatra’s most photogenic landscapes with Melbourne-based photographer Peter Fogarty, over 10 days.
Venture into the jungle of the Gunung Leuser National Park in search of wild orangutans and gibbons, trek through stunning forest, spend time with local rangers learning how they protect wildlife and support communities, take part in a traditional cooking lesson, visit the bustling markets of Medan city, and travel to Mount Sibayak in the Karonese highlands; a picturesque volcanic landscape with breathtaking panoramic vistas and the most incredible scenery this part of Sumatra has to offer.
A special part of the adventure includes a day trip to the brand new Orangutan Haven, the world's newest eco-park where Sumatran orangutans affected by human-wildlife conflict now live.
This trip is adventurous, educational, and the perfect blend of culture, community, and conservation.

You need at least a medium level of fitness for this adventure.
