Sumatran Tiger Expedition | April 2026

from $623.75

06 - 13 April 2026. $2,495.00 NZD per person

8 places remaining - join by January 31st, 2026

Join this 8 day expedition to help with the construction of a predator-proof livestock corral with Sumatran Ranger Project to protect community livelihoods and Sumatran tigers. We will spend a week on construction; collecting the raw materials and building the corral with the ranger team. Corrals provide alternative overnight housing to oil palm plantations where livestock are easy prey for Sumatran tigers. They protect livestock and livelihoods, in turn preventing the retaliatory killing of tigers. We will trek with the ranger team on part of their patrol route along the border of the Gunung Leuser National Park looking for snares and wildlife, and enjoy some rest and relaxation time on the river; tubing and exploring natural hot springs and waterfalls.
